Revit – Decals

Decals is a great way to improve your renderings and save on modeling.

Use the Place Decals tool to place an image on the surface of an object,  for example, a logo a on a building.  Other examples would be to place a painting in a room or a billboard.

You can insert a decal by going to: Insert tab > Decal drop-down >  Decal Types.

Decals can be created from image types like: BMP, JPG, JPEG and PNG. They can place them in a 2D view or a 3D Orthographic view.  Just make sure that there is an available flat or cylindrical surface on which you can place the decal on.  Once a decal has been inserted, you can move, resize, rotate or change the properties of a decal.
